My workflow is a bit different from that of most people. Shooting HDR is not something I do for 100% of my photography, but it is something I sometimes have to create. I don’t do it often, and sometimes I don’t even know I need to do it when I do.
If I need to shoot for HDR I’ll shoot a bracket with all my different exposure. Then I’ll use Lightroom’s Watercolor feature to blend the images together. Without Lightroom I would never get this look. And without Photoshop’s Dramatic Shot feature, I would never have the tools to create something believable. Not meaning to sound overly dramatic. But on this project, I needed accurate toning and that is why I used Photoshop and not Photoshop Elements.
The panels and tools feel very responsive and easy to use, but we still can’t detect anything wrong. In fact, I find that the lighting enhancements are somehow user friendly. It’s good to see that they focus more on education than on improved functionality in the Adobe Cloud. It’s also very stable and never crashed during these tests.
The latest version of Lightroom, Lightroom 6.2, adds a batch processing tool called “Lightroom CC 2015” that ups the ante by allowing you to retouch images in batches using multiple selected images. It’s a bit hard to explain without using an image to demonstrate the function. GetApp offers lightweight, but powerful, PDF-based IDEs with an abundance of features. Lightroom CC 2015 is exactly what it is: a learning tool with additional guides. It will make you more comfortable with retouching in Lightroom 6.2.

As with its Elements stablemate, Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements for macOS matches its Windows 10 counterpart feature-for-feature. The software requires macOS 10.14 or later, but it doesn’t yet support Apple Silicon M1-based Macs. That’s on Adobe’s roadmap for the software, however.
